About Us

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

My husband and I decided to retire during the Pandemic and have now started to travel around the world and support various organizations and people in need.

We have been supporting children with cancer in Mexico for the past 8 years (AFCC), and launched our programs in Zimbabwe (ACRZ) after our trip there last fall.

We both come from different backgrounds and countries, and have gone through many experiences. My family came to Canada from the Czech Republic as refugees in 1968 , and Laurent grew up in a large family in rural Quebec.

We both know what it's like to have very little, but with a strong work ethic and perseverance we worked our way up through many jobs since a young age, have raised our own families, and run our own businesses.

As an accountant and auditor, I have worked with dozens of not for profit organizations and have been involved on many boards over the past few decades. As an Entrepreneur, Laurent has started and managed a variety of business ventures, and together, with our experience and skills, we are improving the lives of children and their families, one step at a time.

Our Story

Laurent and I met Aurora from AFCC about 8 years ago when we purchased a condo in PV. We sponsored a couple of children at Christmas and then decided to find out more about her program.

We were blown away by Aurora's commitment and dedication to the children and their families, and decided to support her in any way that was needed. We have now met all the families, have put on various events and fundraisers for them, have helped out during emergencies both financially and in person, and consider them as part of our PV family.

After our trip to Zimbabwe in the fall of 2023 we saw first hand what real need is. With 80% Unemployment, drought conditions with limited drinking water and only a fraction of children able  to go to school we realized how very fortunate we are in North America. The children in rural parts of Zimbabwe struggle just to survive from day to day, and without food , clean drinking water, medical means and education their futures look bleak.

Although we are involved in other charitable organizations such as SPECTRUM (Mothers Support Society) and Soroptimist Int'l  in Vancouver, SULA ( Saving Unloved Lovable Animals) in PV and others, we have decided to make these two programs our signature programs and to personally commit our time and resources to support these communities in PV and Zimbabwe.
